Online Countdown Timer
Set a free online countdown timer in hours, minutes, and seconds. Pause or resume it at any time, follow the final-second warning, and hear an alert when time runs out.
Set a countdown for work, studying, exercise, cooking, presentations, games, breaks, classroom activities, or any task with a time limit. The timer runs directly in your browser and does not require an account or app installation.
Set Hours, Minutes, and Seconds
Open the duration selector and choose the hours, minutes, and seconds you need. The selected duration appears in HH:MM:SS format, allowing you to create both short countdowns and timers lasting several hours.
How to Start, Pause, and Resume the Timer
After selecting a duration, press Start. Use Pause whenever you need to stop temporarily, then press Resume to continue from the same remaining time.
How to Reset the Countdown
Open the duration selector and press Select. The timer stops and returns to the chosen duration, even if you select the same time again. You can then press Start to begin a new countdown.
Final-Second Warning and Sound
During the final five seconds, the display changes color to make the approaching end easier to notice. When the countdown reaches zero, the timer plays an audible alert and displays a button that lets you stop the sound.
Accurate Timing Across Browser Tabs
The timer calculates the remaining duration from real elapsed time rather than relying only on screen updates. It therefore remains accurate when the browser reduces background-tab activity, provided the page stays open.
Hundredths-of-a-Second Display
The main display includes hundredths of a second for a smoother and more precise view of the countdown. The selected starting duration itself is configured in whole hours, minutes, and seconds.
Private Browser-Based Timer
The countdown runs locally in your browser. Your selected duration does not need to be uploaded to or stored on the ORVITech server.
25-Minute Focus Timer Example
To create a 25-minute focus session, set the selector to 00 hours, 25 minutes, and 00 seconds. Press Start to begin, pause if interrupted, and resume when ready. The display changes color during the final five seconds and plays a sound at zero.
