YouTube Comment Finder

Search a public YouTube video's top-level comments for a word or phrase and view up to 100 matching comments.

This YouTube Comment Finder searches the top-level comments available for a public YouTube video and returns up to 100 comments containing the word or phrase you enter.

How to Use the YouTube Comment Finder

Paste a public YouTube video URL, enter the word or phrase you want to find, and select Find Comments. The matching comments will appear with their authors, publication dates, like counts, and reply counts.

What Information Is Shown?

Each result shows the comment's author, publication date, text, number of likes, and number of replies. The matching search term is highlighted inside the comment text to make it easier to locate.

Which YouTube URLs Are Supported?

The finder supports standard YouTube watch links, shortened youtu.be links, Shorts, live-video links, YouTube Music links, and regular or privacy-enhanced embed URLs.

Does the Finder Search Replies?

No. The finder searches top-level comments only. It displays the number of replies associated with each matching comment, but it does not search the text inside those replies.

How Many Comments Can It Find?

The finder returns up to 100 matching top-level comments per search. If more than 100 comments match the search term, additional matches may not be included.

Which Videos Can Be Searched?

You can search accessible public YouTube videos that have comments enabled. Private, removed, unavailable, or restricted videos may not provide comments, and videos with comments disabled cannot be searched.

Why Might a Comment Be Missing?

A comment may not appear because it is a reply rather than a top-level comment, it does not contain the complete search term, it falls outside the returned results, or it is no longer publicly available.

No Google Account Required

You do not need to sign in to YouTube or connect a Google account. The finder searches comments that YouTube makes publicly available for the selected video.

YouTube Comment Search Example

Paste a public YouTube video URL and search for a phrase such as "thank you". The finder will display up to 100 matching top-level comments containing that phrase.
